BMA: ‘Nuts and Bolts for Sessional GPs starting out in the South West’
Thursday 14th June 2018, 13:30 – 18:00
St Luke’s Room 2, Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre, Northwood Lane, Buckfast, Devon TQ11 0EG
The BMA is keenly aware that the transition from specialist training to joining the GP workforce can be challenging. There are lots of new issues to understand, especially if you are considering being self-employed as a Locum GP or seek a Salaried post in a practice in Devon or Cornwall.
In this very practical workshop we aim to fill in some gaps in your knowledge, dispel a few common myths and help you to prepare thoroughly for the changes you’ll encounter.
Whether you are shortly to graduate and enter General Practice, or have been working for a time but still have questions about:
- Starting out as a Sessional GP
- the Performers List, Appraisal & Revalidation
- Indemnity insurance
- Finance and pensions
Experts in each of these areas will present the facts, during an information-filled afternoon; with time for questions, networking and discussion.
The BMA Local Engagement Trial has organised this workshop for you – come along and find out the facts! Afternoon tea will be served mid-way through the workshop.
Registration is essential via Eventbrite:

Distances from: Barnstaple 74; Exeter 23; Plymouth 23; Taunton 53; Torquay 22, Truro 75 (in miles)
